Advocacy day for Optometrists of Maine!

April 11, 2024
Advocacy day for Optometrists of Maine! March 20 th, 2024, was an opportunity for optometrists to advocate for their profession and engage with legislators at the Augusta Capitol building.

Don’t miss out on the chance to make a difference for the future of optometry in Maine- please Join Me in future legislative work.

Four Maine optometrists represented their state in Washington D.C. for the American Optometric Association on Capitol Hill. During their visit, they met with Maine representatives and senators to discuss critical national issues, including ending abusive VBM practices - CL prescription verification, Medicaid payment system, and VA recruitment and scope of practice for veterans. This important work affects all optometrists, and we encourage you to Join Us next year. Mark your calendar for Sept. 28th-30th, 2025. Let the MOA office know you want to join. Together, we can make a difference for our profession and our patients.
